Pricing & distribution policy.
World Randonneur bikes and spares are developed and marketed in Australia by Gemini Bicycles. Gemini’s policy is to sell through bicycle shops. We choose to work with bike shops as this is the way we think bike riders will best get the care and support that they need.
- We want bike shops to discuss peoples’ individual needs and to set bikes up individually. This includes attention to handlebar stem length.
- We want future World Randonneur owners to be able to examine the different models in a shop and, where desired, to test-ride a bike.
- We want follow-up adjustment of the gears, brakes and seating position to be part of what the new owner gets in the price he or she pays.
We want cyclists to have good and direct access to their bike shop, which hopefully is near to where they live or work. Bike shops can’t provide this as well unless they supplied the bike directly and have direct contact with our staff.
We do not permit bike shops to take orders for World Randonneur bikes on the internet as this defeats the purposes set out above. The person placing the order could be thousands of kilometres from the shop. We would only consider that arrangement if it involved delivery of the bike to a shop with which we had an “assembly and service agreement.”
We limit dealer listings on this site to those that carry our bikes in stock. This is so we are not sending you to a shop where you won't see our bikes. But there are dozens of shops around Australia that do not carry stock of World Randonneurs but occasionally order a bike in and so have familiarity with them. If you are not near one of our listed dealers and would like to know who we can recommend near to you please contact our office.
Gemini Bicycles does not control the pricing of the bikes but suggests prices.
Our suggested prices apply to East coast capital cities. Tasmania, NT, and WA plus regional locations may have slightly higher prices to cover freight.
