Travelling Kit - Clothing.
This is a personal and subjective area, subject also to climate and trip duration. So we don't think there is a lot to be said by the bike designers.
This is a very important subject. Obviously there is the utility we get from these items of clothing. But in the balance may be avoidable weight and avoidable volume. On non-camping tours of up to a month, it is quite possible to go without front racks. A pair of Duo racks plus empty panniers weighs an extra 1.9kg and comes with noticable wind resistance.
Leaving out places where culture says you have to cover up, and cold places, it is quite possible to take very little (in terms of weight and volume) clothing. It can be subdivided into
- flying clothes, and
- riding clothes.
Please visit later for some hopefully useful tips on both of these. We are still compiling this. |
